Yes, it's a gag. From SNL. I first saw it on Jezebel, and it's been making the rounds this week.

While it's a great send-up of a current issue, anti-vaccination groups seem to have missed the joke. Some of the commenters on Age of Autism believed that Big Pharma would make NBC ban the spoof, which they saw as a political statement.

When I was a kid, and Star Wars was still shiny and new, Lucasfilm lent out the cheaper characters for TV Public Service Announcements against drunk driving and smoking.

It's obviously an old one, but with the anti-vaccination movement and the renaissance of measles, perhaps it's time for a sequel.
