F'd Ad Fridays: Now with more Jordache than you can shake your ass at

I don't know if any of the rest of you clicked on the 1980 Jordache jeans spot that popped up as a reco after playing their '70s ad embedded in a previous post. I just now did:

Jordache was know in the '70s for being focussed on how tight they were on the bum.

Which is fine with adults. But translating the slogan and the ass shots to a classroom full of kids? And their teacher?

Times sure have changed. Although in the interest of full disclosure, I had myself a pair of those things on my prepubescent butt within a year after this ad was made.

Have a great weekend, all.

Ah yes, the "kid in bubble wrap" cliché...

I'll admit it. I've had this idea come up in creative sessions about family safety issues on many, many occasions.

But do you know why we don't end up using it? Because GIS, that's why.

When your "there's a better way..." concept is already a tired cliché in stock photo libraries and mommy blogs, it's time to start over.

And not just with different materials, either...

Target Audience: Parents who think their kids are stupid?

Funny ads from Mccann Erickson, Tel-aviv, but will they appeal to today's "my child is a unique miracle of God" parents?

Maybe Israeli parents have a better-developed sense of irony.

If sugar is fattening, how come so many kids are thin?

via
Facepalm, right? This kind of folksy anecdote is always dangerous, when used in place of science, but at least this was from a time when neighbourhoods were still built with sidewalks and and kids spent all day active outdoors.
