80 Cool Sketchbook Designs

Sketchbook Secrets: 50 Beautiful Sketchbook Scans

The sketchbook is—to borrow a term from the new millenniums’ popular discourse—an artist’s BFF. It’s a diary for the visually inclined—a place where artists can most comfortably explore their personal thoughts, work out their visual needs, practice, maintain a visual history, and hopefully create the unpolished work that will eventually lead to amazing work for the world to see.

Inspiration: Ten Travel Sketchbooks

There’s nothing quite like viewing other artists or designers sketchbooks to help you feel inspired. Whether it’s a sense of guilt because you haven’t been doing as much drawing as you would like to, or maybe it’s seeing a little bit of the world through someone else’s eyes that gets you excited, or maybe (as in my case) you would just love to be able to draw like this. And it’s nice to look at something NOT created in Photoshop or Illustrator. (Only for a little while though!)

The Traveling Sketchbooks

The design blog Ideafixa, along with Caderno Listrado, had the awesome idea to promote two traveling sketchbooks. What is it? A sketchbook is sent to a famous designer, and he or she's gotta add something to its blank pages. After doing that, the designer will choose one name from a list in the index page and will send the sketchbook to that person the chose. That way, the sketchbooks keep traveling all over the country until the last designer adds something. After that, they promote an exposition, what is really cool. It happened during February and March here in Brazil. Some of the sketches you may check now! It's really awesome. Cheers! ;)
